Notes on these hash functions

SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 are computed with the browser's nativeSubtleCrypto.digest. MD5 is not part of the Web Crypto API (it's cryptographically broken) so it's computed with a small in-browser implementation included only for compatibility with legacy checksums. Do not rely on MD5 or SHA-1 for security purposes.

About Hash Generator

Hash Generator computes MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 cryptographic checksums of text inputs directly in your browser.

How to use Hash Generator

  1. Type or paste source text into the payload field.
  2. Select cryptographic algorithms (SHA-256, SHA-512, MD5, SHA-1).
  3. Click Calculate Hashes to compute message digests.
  4. Copy calculated hexadecimal hash values.

Examples

Text Input: innealan SHA-256 Output: 6b86b273ff34fce19d6b804eff5a3f5747ada4eaa22f1d49c01e52ddb7875b4b

FAQ

Can cryptographic hashes be reversed back to original text?

No. Cryptographic hash functions are one-way mathematical transformations.

Is payload text uploaded to external servers for hashing?

No. Hash calculations are performed locally using Web Crypto browser APIs.
