Mobile Home Skirting Calculator

Calculate exterior skirting area and panel count for a mobile, manufactured, or modular home.

Planning estimate

Use this mobile home skirting calculator to estimate the panel quantity from the home's perimeter, average ground clearance, openings, and the panel's coverage width. Measure the skirting height around the whole home because sloping ground can change the quantity substantially. Confirm panel dimensions, ventilation, access, frost protection, and installation requirements with the manufacturer and local code authority before ordering.

About Mobile Home Skirting Calculator

Mobile Home Skirting Calculator calculates the exterior perimeter, skirting area, and panel count for a rectangular mobile, manufactured, or modular home. It uses the panel's coverage width, not its total width, so overlapping edges are not counted twice.

How to use Mobile Home Skirting Calculator

  1. Enter the outside length and width of the home in feet.
  2. Enter the average vertical distance from the bottom of the home to the ground in inches.
  3. Subtract access doors and other openings by entering their combined area in square feet.
  4. Enter the panel coverage width and a waste allowance, then click Calculate skirting.

Examples

Home: 70ft x 16ft, Average Height: 36in, Panel Coverage Width: 16in, 10% Waste Result: 172 linear feet of perimeter, 567.6 square feet including waste, and 142 panels.

FAQ

Does this calculator include vents and an access panel?

It subtracts the combined area you enter for access and other openings. It does not determine how many vents your installation requires; follow the skirting manufacturer's instructions and local code.

What panel width should I enter?

Use the manufacturer's coverage or exposure width after overlaps, not the panel's full physical width. Using full width can underestimate the number of panels.

Can I use this for a manufactured or modular home?

Yes, for a rectangular home where exterior skirting panels run around the full perimeter. Add attached sections separately when they change the perimeter, and verify the estimate against the actual installation layout.
